The Child Development theorists that have the greatest influence on your thinking and practice

A theory of development deals with change over time and is usually concerned with three things. First, it should describe changes over time within an area or several areas of development. Second, it should describe changes among areas of development. Third, it should explain these changes. No one theory has proved adequate to describe and explain learning or development.

I have similar thinking practices as a couple different child development theorists. Johann Pestalozzi has the most influence on my thinking and practices. The reason is because I feel the most important stage of a child life is the first year and that children should work at their own pace. I believe that children social relationships is a critical part of their life. I'm a strong believer of nurture over nature similar to John Locke's method more than any other theorists.

Why you have chosen to become an Early Childhood Education

The Reason I chosen Early Childhood Education
I chosen to work with children because when I was young in the house of 9 siblings. Helping my younger brothers was my responsible even if it was  from house chores to school work. From then on I knew I would like to be apart of helping and guiding children to meet challenges, teaching them to respect and values what they have now. Being a childhood professional is an amazing career to engage in the children life and become an role model to them.

Also, partner with each family to nurture the children because parents refer to us as a resources for many things, like communication, developing them, giving them responsibility's, which helps the children over time understand who they are and how to deal with some situation. When I was working with children my goal was to connect with them and keep that bond that comes with that personal connection. I love the thought of being the first person to get the children started with their education by helping them along the way with fun filled classroom activities and games.
